Art Zeigler B-B-170-7

Art Zeigler, 72, of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away on May 29, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on November 7, 1944, in Shelbyville, Indiana, the son of Millard A. Zeigler and Vada (Dykes) Rose. He married Brenda (Burton) Zeigler. He is survived by his wife; daughters, Carrie Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Mandy Burton of Whiteland, Indiana; a son, Artie Zeigler of North Vernon, Indiana; grandchildren, Hilary Zeigler of California, Jordan Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana, Morgan Litchfield of Whiteland, Indiana, and Cole Burton of Whiteland, Indiana; and a brother, Gary (Margaret) Zeigler of Taylorsville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Edna Hensley; and a great-grandson, Jaxton Burton. Mr. Zeigler served in the U.S. Army and retired from the National Guard. He formerly served on the Edinburgh Police Department and the Columbus Fire Department. He was a member of  American Legion Post 233 in Edinburgh. He was a USO volunteer, enjoyed photographing local school athletic events in and around Edinburgh and also enjoyed submitting photographs of interest to the local newspaper. A memorial service will be conducted Monday, June 5, 2017, at 2 p.m. by the Reverends Lewis Burton and Mark Myers at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Edinburgh Community Schools, 300 Keeley St., Edinburgh, IN 46124. Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
