Thomas Paul Kabrich, 71, of Edinburgh, formerly of Greenville and Francesville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2017 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. He was born October 16, 1945 in Shelbyville, to Carl Kabrich and Mary (Ping) Kabrich. He married Sharry (Carr) Kabrich on January 21, 1967 at Jollity United Methodist Church in Shelby County; she survives. He was a 1963 graduate of Southwestern High School in Shelby County, and 1967 graduate with honors from Purdue University in agronomy and ag economics and was a member of the FarmHouse Fraternity. He served as an Ag lender from 1968 until his retirement in 2013 from Shelby County Bank/First Merchants. He previously had been a lender for the Federal Land Bank/ Farm Credit Services, Agri-Business Services, Bell Investments, Bank of Reynolds, American State Bank/Indiana Federal Bank/ Pinnacle Bank and National City Bank/PNC. Prior to his career in banking he had worked for the Hamilton County Extension Services. He attended Jollity United Methodist Church in Shelby County and previously First Christian Church in Francesville and Edwardsville United Methodist Church in Edwardsville. He grew up attending St. George Lutheran Church in Shelby County. He was a member of Shelbyville Lions Club, served on the Pulaski County Jail Board and previously on the Pulaski County Hospital Board. He enjoyed coaching football and baseball. Survivors include his wife, Sharry (Carr) Kabrich of Edinburgh; sons, Todd Kabrich (Jill) of Lafayette, Scott Kabrich (Kim) of Wolcottville, Troy Kabrich (Jody) of Clayton, North Carolina, daughters Teri Kabrich of Silver Lake; grandchildren, Katelyn Kabrich, Ryan Kabrich, Meagan Kabrich, Jackson Kabrich, Lauryn Kabrich and Alison Kabrich; nieces, Sue Urban (Mike) of Brazil, Indiana, Sandy Kyle (Mike) of Edinburgh, Kim Ceccoli of Weschester, Ohio, nephew, Tim Kabrich of Edinburgh; father-in-law, Norman Carr of Franklin, and sister-in-law, Barbara Johnson of Fishers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Kabrich; a brother, David Kabrich, and sister, Linda Wilhite. The Revs. James Ketchen and James Hoppus will conduct a service Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call Wednesday October 18, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
