Rebecca "Becky" Bennett M-B-28-1

December 05, 1946 - January 10, 2018 Rebecca “Becky” Bennett, 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, early Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Whiteland. She was born on December 5th, 1946 in Indianapolis to Lawrence and Marjorie (Taylor) Lowe. She married Fred Bennett on November 17th, 1963. Rebecca is survived by her two daughters, Marjorie K. Buchanan (Curt) of Franklin and Amanda Arnold (Brad) of Whiteland; three grandchildren, Courtney Van Winkle (John); Carley Buchanan and Trent Buchanan; and one great-granddaughter, Scarlett Van Winkle.   She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband Fred on June 20th, 2017, son Ricky and brother, Roger Lowe. Becky grew up in Franklin and attended Franklin Community Schools. She was employed at Earlywood Education Services and later retired from Creekside Elementary where she worked in Special Education Services. Becky was a member of Victory Church in Franklin. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. Becky enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family, playing cards, going for rides, and she loved her dogs Miley and Susie dearly.   She loved her grandchildren, attending their sporting events, or just giving and receiving back rubs. She loved the summertime and sunshine, sitting on her front porch and talking to neighbors. Becky will be remembered for her kind and loving heart, spunky personality, and her “never give up” attitude. She was a caregiver, confidant, and friend to many and she will be greatly missed. The Rev. Larry McAdams will conduct a celebration of Becky’s life on Saturday, January 13th at 2:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
