Gerald Verlin Adair, 90, of Edinburgh, passed away February 13, 2018 at his residence. He was born April 7, 1927 in Boone County. He was the son of Gerald “Dutch” and Ruth (Maddox) Adair. He married Ruth Maxine (Branaman) Adair on November 9, 1946. He is survived by his wife; son, Allen Wayne (Pam) Adair of Amity, daughters, Virginia Gadberry and Loretta (Randy) Denton, both of Edinburgh; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Marjorie Allman of Edinburgh. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kathie Lynne Adair; and a brother, Leland Adair. He was a member of Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II and was awarded the Victory Medal and Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal. He was a landlord and a self-employed truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, junking, piddling, and had owned race car No. 007. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 by the Rev. Lewis Burton at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday, February 16 at the church and from noon until time of service on Saturday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Arrangements made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
