Frances “Tincy” Sloan B-M-85-4

Frances “Tincy” Sloan, 79 of Franklin, formerly of Edinburgh, passed away April 25, 2018 at Franklin Meadows in Franklin. She was born July 1, 1938 in Adair County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Leo and Carrie (Hancock) Cowan. She married Dean Sloan on June 27, 1987 and he survives. She is survived by her husband; daughter, Robin (John) Gassaway and son, Robert Allen Allison, both of Edinburgh; stepsons, Larry (Cheryl) Sloan of Franklin and Fred Michael Sloan of Alabama, stepdaughters, Lillian Kay Howard, Mary Elizabeth (Jeff) Bailey and Diana Lynn Bryant, all of Edinburgh; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Robert) Lain of Edinburgh, Jewell Dean (Jack) Langford of Greenwood and Faye Allender of Terra Haute. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lisa D. Sexton; brother, Marshall Cowan, and sister, Pauline Richardson. She retired from David R. Webb Co. and then worked at Arby’s. She enjoyed Gospel singing and gardening. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 by the Rev. Lewis Burton at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
