Ival G. Coy M-E-46-2

Ival G. Coy, 89, of Flat Rock, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his residence. He was born March 6, 1929, in Brown County, the son of George C. and Gusta M. (Walker) Coy. On March 24, 1950, he married his wife of 68 years, Bertha M. Abel, and she survives. In addition to Bertha, Ival is survived by his sister, Ann Drake; grandchildren, Cari Lei Coy, Leisa Marie Roberts and husband, Dustin, and Brent A. Coy; great-grandchildren, Erik Coy, Mackenzie Robinson, Mariah Robinson, Tyson Robinson, Emma Roberts and Adyson Roberts; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronnie Ival Coy; brother, Kenneth Coy; and sister, Dorothy Coy Legan. Ival graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1947. He was a farmer in Shelby County beginning in 1942. Ival was a 50-year member of the Norristown Masonic Lodge No. 147 F&AM, Order of Eastern Star Lodge No. 473, Shelby County Shrine Club, Shrine Valley of Indianapolis and Flat Rock Citizens Committee. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville, with Eastern Star services at 7 p.m. followed by Masonic ritual. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the funeral home.
