Jimmy Leon Brooks Sr., 65, of Edinburgh, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born July 5, 1946, in Madison, to Charles Leonard Brooks and Sarah E. Brooks Cunning­ham. He married Karol L. (Cooper) Brooks; she survives. He also is survived by four children, Jimmy Leon Brooks Jr. of Edinburgh, James Stewart (Sheila) Brooks of Martinsville, Robert Leonard Brooks of Mooresville and Deborah Lynn (Timothy) Sallee of Whiteland; four stepchildren, Jack Ray Stanfield of North Carolina, and James Robert (Paula) Stanfield, Joseph Ryan Stanfield and Kimberly Enochs, all of Martinsville; four sisters, Carolyn (Kenneth) Snow of Hustonville, Ky., Patty Ridge of Franklin, and Mary (Willard) Britton and Bonnie (John Sr.) Mayer, both of Edinburgh; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Eugene "Butchie" Brooks. He attended Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh. He retired from AFI Truck Lines as a truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his family, driving his truck, camping and boating. The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278. Arrangements are being handled by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
