Donald Eugene Michaels, 67, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at his residence in Edinburgh. He was born March 12, 1946, in Bartholomew County to the late Jason Michaels and Ruby A. (Followell) Michaels. He married Jo Ann (Burton) Michaels on Jan. 30, 1966. She survives. He also is survived by his children, Clinton (Cindy) Michaels and Dessica “Dustie” Sharp (fiance, Randy Morphew), both of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Tyler Money, Brooke Michaels, Desirae Michaels, Alyssa Michaels and Dustie Sharp; and siblings, LaVerne Williams Burton of Edinburgh, Wanda Jean (Shelton) Beck of Columbus and Cindy (Mark) Dickey of Edinburgh. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason “Jake” Michaels; and siblings, the Rev. Robert Earl Michaels, Sue Burton, Lois Burton and Connie Eastham. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968 and served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He attended Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh. He was a member of Edinburgh American Legion Post 233. He owned and operated Don's Auto in Edinburgh for more than 40 years. He was a devoted grandfather and Corvette enthusiast. He enjoyed attending car shows and watching football. A funeral will be at 1 p.m.  Friday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh, with the Revs. Lewis Burton and Mark Myers officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Arrangements are being handled by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
