Paul Dale Giles M-H-33-4

Paul Dale Giles, 73, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at his residence in Edinburgh. He was born July 23, 1940, to the late DeRoy and Betty Lou (Streeval) Giles. He married Alma (Bolen) Giles. She survives. Other survivors include children, Gary (Susan) Giles, David Giles and Kevin Giles, all of Edinburgh, and Kimberly Forward of Walbridge, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Nick (Janice) Giles of Edinburgh. He was preceded in death by two brothers, R.J. Lloyd and T.A. Giles; three sisters, Mae Murray, Mary Watson and Irene Davis; and a granddaughter, Makayla Forward. He retired from Arvin Industries in Franklin, where he was employed as a welder. Paul was a man who believed that family came first. He was one to believe that family ties were the foundation. He had a passion for playing fast-pitch softball. He started playing in Edinburgh with his brothers. After he decided to retire, he enjoyed and loved coaching and watching his own children, Gary, David, Kevin and Kim. He loved watching his grandchildren, Misty, Brandie, Ashley, Jeannine, Austin, Caleb, T.J. Sidney, Zack and Lillian play sports and grow up. He also loved watching his great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Brianna, Catey, Aux, Makenzie, Eric, Gary, Olivia and Tony play sports and grow up. Paul loved fishing and camping with his brothers and families. He always wanted his family together for any reason possible, mainly for cookouts and a good laugh. He was a member of Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh. The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh is handling arrangements.
