James Lee “Jim” Turner, 65, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2014, at his residence in Mount Auburn. He was born Sept. 1, 1949, in Shelbyville, the son of Beryl and Althene (Phelps) Turner. He married Donna (Stanley) Turner on July 4, 1969; and she survives. He also is survived by sons, James (Casey) Turner of Edinburgh and Jason (Christina) Turner of Franklin; daughters, Donella Turner of Edinburgh and Dawn (Jerrie) Leclercq of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Markita Turner, James Trenton Warner, Justin Leclercq, Jenna Leclercq, James Turner, Caleb Turner, Eli Turner, Tyler Turner and Jaylee Turner; great-grandchildren, Lillian Bliton and Owen Bliton; brothers, Gerald (Kathy) Turner of Whiteland and Michael Glenn “Buddy” Turner of Columbus; and sisters, Joyce Ann Turner, Mary A. (Steve) Gaskins and Rebecca Sue Brown, all of Indianapolis, Marsha Kay (Gary) Goforth of Perkins, Oklahoma, Marilyn Jane (Tim) Parks of Maryland and Teresa Marlene Turner of Franklin. He owned and operated Turner’s Auto Repair in Edinburgh. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, hunting, golf, bowling and racing. The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct the funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church, 623 Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Arrangements are being handled by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
