Harold W. Haines, 78, of New Whiteland, IN passed away on Sunday May 24, 2026, at University Heights Health and Living Community in Indianapolis, IN. He was born July 17, 1947, in Franklin, IN to Harold K. and Ruby (Walker) Haines and was raised in Brown County, IN. Harold married Janice K. (Woods) Haines and were married for61 years. He was a 1965 graduate of Brown County High School. Harold worked in construction his whole life. He was a member of Carpenters Local #60 for several years. He later worked as head of maintenance at the Johnson County Parks
Department for 17 years retiring in 2011.He enjoyed NASCAR racing, watching football and basketball. Survivors include his wife Janice K. (Woods) Haines of New Whiteland, IN, three sons Harold E. Haines of Rockville, IN, Kenneth Haines (Christy) of Martinsville, IN and Anthony Haines (Shannon) of Camby, IN, his daughter Kristel Haines of Greenwood, IN, two brothers Terry
Haines of Edinburgh, IN and Rick Haines of Brown County, IN, a sister Judy Newkirk of Edinburgh, IN, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Larry Eugene Haines, two half-brothers Jim Haines and Jerry T. Haines, his grandson Isaiah W. Haines, and a great granddaughter Zoey Faith Lipp. No services will be conducted.
Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, IN.
