Francis E. Swift 93 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away September 19, 2021 at Grand Brook Memory Care of Greenwood, Indiana. He was born August 14, 1928 in Brown County, Indiana. He was the son of Wilber and Mary P. (Dinn) Swift. He married Carol Jeann (Moore) Swift and she preceded him in death. He later married Vivian Ault Swift and she also preceded him in death.

He is survived by sons, Marvin (Joyce) Swift of Clinton, Tennessee, Francis A. “Tony” (Jennie) Swift of Franklin, Indiana, Ronald (Gaila) Swift of Edinburgh, Indiana, Rick (Tracy) Swift of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Gerrie (JonNel) Swift of Franklin, Indiana, daughters, Shirley (Michael) Walker of Indianapolis, Indiana, Brenda Swift (Tom Zimmerman) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Cherri (Brian) Harker of Waldron, Indiana, step-son, Michael Ault of Franklin, Indiana; step-daughters Teresa McKee of Franklin, Indiana, and Jennie Swift of Franklin, Indiana, daughters-in-law, Marilyn Swift of Indianapolis, Indiana and Fay Swift of Shelbyville, Indiana, 28 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, sons, Terry Swift and Russell Swift, step-daughter, Della Ault, brothers, Harry Swift, Joseph Swift, and James Swift, and sister, Theresa Stanton.

Francis graduated from Mt. Auburn High School. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh, Edinburgh Lion’s Club, and was a former member of Marietta Volunteer Fire Department. He was a farmer in Shelby and Johnson Counties. He worked at Blue River products in Edinburgh for 40 plus years. He owned Fran’s Liquor Store for 40 plus years.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing Euchre.

A Funeral Mass will be conducted by Father Chris Wadelton at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, Sept. 26, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
