Roy “Doc” Farr Jr., M-B-16-3

Roy “Doc” Farr Jr., 95, of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away January 30, 2019 at Otterbein Senior Living in Franklin, Indiana. He was born May 20, 1923 in Edinburgh, Indiana. He was the son of Leroy Ellsworth and Margaret (Sweeney) Farr. He married Mary Virginia (Shaffer) Farr on July 12, 1941 and she preceded him in death on November 28, 1991. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Jerry) Church of Franklin, Indiana, ten grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren, Dorothy Chandler of Edinburgh, Indiana, daughter-in-law, Camie Farr of Edinburgh, Indiana, and sister-in-law, Alberta Farr of Mount Auburn, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Roy Farr III, daughter, Sharon Gosney and her husband, Jeff, and brother, James A. Farr. Roy was a member of the former Edinburgh Christian Church and the Chevy Camp Cats Camping Club. He was a WWII Navy veteran and served on the USS Atascosa. He retired in 1985 from General Motors in Indianapolis where he worked in machine maintenance. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, camping, working on cars, fishing, and hunting. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019 by Deacon Russ Woodard at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
