Water Main Flushing

The Edinburgh Municipal Utilities will be flushing water mains beginning April 15, 2024 at 7:30 AM and continue through April 25, 2024.  Customers may experience some discoloration in their water during this operation.  If this occurs at your residence or business we suggest that you run a slow stream of cold water until the discoloration disappears.  Usually, five to ten minutes will take care of the problem.  If the discoloration persists, please contact the Utility Office at 812-526-3514 option 5.  We strongly suggest that white clothing not be washed during the daytime hours to help reduce the risk of staining.  Some other light colors could also be affected.  To be safe these colors should be washed after the hour of 7:00 PM until after the flushing program is completed.
