Marcella Dorette Schoolcraft Badger-A-110-2

Marcella Dorette Schoolcraft, 73, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away at 11:34 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at the Apostolic Tabernacle in Edinburgh at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15th, with Rev. Mark Myers officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the church and on Monday  from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Born January 15, 1945, in Columbus, Indiana, Marcella was the daughter of the late Rev. Grover and Grace Louise Myers. On May 11, 1963, she married the love of her life, Ronald Schoolcraft. She was a former member of Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Martinsville and a current member of the Apostolic Tabernacle in Edinburgh. Mrs. Schoolcraft’s life was centered around her faith and her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her faith led her to be a “campaigner for Jesus,” sharing the Gospel with whomever she could. Throughout her life she continually worked for the Kingdom of God, serving as a church musician, choir director, Sunday School teacher, and youth camp instructor.  Her passion was to influence future generations by her Godly example, lifestyle, and teaching.  She was an advocate of Christian education serving at various times as a principal, supervisor, and music teacher. Marcella was a gifted artist, seamstress, and hairdresser. She also enjoyed gardening, interior decorating, and knitting. She was a true example of a Proverbs 31 virtuous woman and a handmaiden of the Lord.  Mrs. Schoolcraft is survived by her husband Ronald Schoolcraft of Columbus; three daughters, Rhonda (Bryan) Bowling of Columbus, Angela (Scott) Marshall of Russellville, KY, and Julia (Kevin) Bowling of Franklin; 12 grandchildren, Rachel (Eric) Edwards, Breanna Bowling, Nathaniel Bowling, Cecilie (Nathaniel) Richer, Anna (Adam) Cox, Julia Bowling, Madeline Bowling, Meredith Bowling, Rose Marshall, Ethan Bowling, Sophia Bowling and Micah Bowling; two great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Theodore Edwards; six brothers, James, Stephen, Timothy, Paul, Mark, and Nathan Myers; an aunt, Alice Fleetwood and an uncle, Jacob Crouch. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Tabernacle Christian School or the Indiana Association of Home Educators.
