Julia E. Burton (Julie), Badger-A-108-4

Julia E. Burton (Julie), 76, of Franklin Indiana, formerly of Edinburgh, passed away on November 7th, 2019 at Otterbein Franklin Senior Life Community where she resided. Julia was born in Edinburgh, IN, on June 25th, 1943 to Stanley and Myrtle Jane Louise (Phillips) Hedger. She is survived by her son, Rev. Darren Burton (Jennifer) of Madison, IN and her grandchildren, Jacob Wyatt Rider, Sabrina Rider, Chloe Burton, Ashlynn Burton, Malachi Burton, Lillie Burton, and Uriah Burton all of whom were her world and the joy of her life. She was immensely proud of her family. Julia is also survived by her dear sisters, Bethel Taylor of Edinburgh, IN, Lola (Ellis) Taylor of Edinburgh, IN, Violet Todd of Mason, OH, Ruby Kent of Edinburgh, IN, and Velma Brown of Edinburgh, IN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Millard Hedger, Melvin Hedger, Stanley Dale Hedger, and sisters, Edith Gail Hedger, and Ethel Pearl Haley. Julia was a true servant of Christ to countless people and was a member of Edinburgh Apostolic Tabernacle for over 34 years. She was a hard worker all of her life to provide for her family. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide in the Health Care profession for over 30 years always showing compassion to the less fortunate. In her lifetime she also worked as a farmhand, waitress, house cleaner, and veneer handler. Julia enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, baking gifts for loved ones, talking on the telephone with her sisters and friends, reading, and singing Gospel Hymns. She was known for her unselfish generosity and friendship, and will be greatly missed by her many loved ones and friends. The family would also like to thank those at Otterbein Franklin Senior Life Community that took wonderful care of Julia. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 by Reverend Mark Myers at Edinburgh Apostolic Tabernacle in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the church, and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
