Shirley Joann (Wills) Freese, formerly of Edinburgh, IN, passed away at Compass Park in Memory Unit on December 13, 2019 in Franklin, IN. She was born on September 28, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to Mildred and Elise Wills. She graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis, IN and attended business school after high school. She met her former husband Tom Freese and they married in 1949. She then moved to Edinburgh, IN to start a family. She is survived by Jack Freese (Nique) of Louisville, KY , Marilyn Crawhorn (David), and Nancy Gosney (Allen), both of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Tom Crawhorn, Tim Crawhorn, Nina Freese-Chan, Toby Freese, Jacob Freese, and Michael George; 4 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Kelly of Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Wills, Millard Wills, Jr, and Robert L. Mills, sister, Norma J. Schnabel; and grandson, Jeffrey Allen George. Shirley retired from the Town of Edinburgh where she worked as a billing clerk and in customer service. She was a member of the Edinburgh American Legion Auxiliary and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, loved playing cards, and dancing. She enjoyed working with flowers in the summertime.A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. by Deacon Russ Woodard at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to Compass Park Memory Unit and/or Edinburgh Cheer Fund.
