Steve Warren Shriver, 82 of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away April 17th, 2025, at his home. He was born January 2,1943 in Shelbyville, Indiana. He was the son of Warren Frank Shriver and Evelyn Irene (Shriver) Gill.  He was raised by his stepfather Harold Gill, after his father’s death in Oct 1944 during active military service. Stephan served in the US Navy’s elite Seabees battalion during his two tours in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Edinburgh and Franklin Legions, as well as the VFW, The Liars Club, and the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association. He was a long-standing member of the 103 Operating Engineers Union and retired from Barnett Pipeline of Franklin Indiana in 2005. Steve was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He played football and basketball for the Edinburgh High School Varsity teams and was a catcher on the Thomas Welding Softball Team. Steve was also a skilled craftsman forging custom knives, an accomplished gunsmith and avid collector, and enjoyed playing Santa Claus for area children. Family and tradition were important to Steve.  He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Steve is survived by his Brothers Jamie and Christopher Gill, Daughter, Stephanie Shriver-Engdahl, Sons Billy Joe Snyder, Michael Snyder, and David Snyder, Daughter-in-law Lisa Snyder, Grand Daughters Alicia Taflinger, Mackenzie Taflinger, Emma Engdahl, and Wendy Brock, Grandsons Jarett Engdahl and Dalton Snyder, and several Great Grandchildren, first wife Janet (Morris) Masek, and his companion Sally Sue Litchfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife Beverly Jane Shriver, Daughter Esther Taflinger, Grandson Shayne Snyder, Granddaughter Aimee Whiteman, and Great Grandson Riley Taflinger. A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Archie Taflinger at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, April 24, 2025 and 11:00 am until service time on Friday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
