Bernard F. “Bernie” Ashley, 66, of Nineveh, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at Franklin United Methodist Community. He was born July 26, 1949, in Rochester, New York, to Frederick Ashley and Lena M. (Bojczuk) Ashley Cason. He married Kathleen “Kitty” (Sadler) on Aug. 22, 1970; and she survives. He also is survived by his sons, Scott Ashley of Indianapolis and Lance (Amie) Ashley of Greenwood; sisters, Patricia (Terry) Federspiel of Spencerport, New York, and Anne Marie (Roy) Holland of Lyndonville, New York; and grandchildren, Liam and Allison Ashley. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Albert Cason. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh and Sons of American Legion Franklin Post 205. He retired as CPA for George S. Olive accounting firm and as finance director at the Indiana Department of American Legion. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 100 Keeley St., Edinburgh, with Father Steven Schaftlein officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh.
