John C. Lucas, 83, Edinburgh, IN. passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Arbor Grove Village, Greensburg, IN. He was born April 11, 1932 in Owenton, Ky. to Ross Coleman Lucas and Etta Margarett (Lynn) Lucas. He married Dorothy Marie (wise) December 11, 1948 and she preceded him in death October 1, 2014.He is survived by sons Michael (JoEllyn) Lucas, Morgantown and Stephen (Pam) Lucas, Virginia; daughters Carlotta (Darrell) McKnight, Edinburgh, Dianna (Jimmy) Mobley, Kentucky, Rebecca (Rick) Stevens, Shelbyville; (12) grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, wife; son Mark Timothy Lucas; daughter Julie Esther Lucas; brother Melvin Lucas; sisters Christine Claude, Flossie Huey, Sylvia Hums and Pauline Morris. He was a pastor and member of Edinburgh Holiness Church. He retired in 1987 after 30 years’ service from Cummins Engine Co., Columbus, IN.A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday December 12, 2015 by Rev. don Walden at Grace Community Church, formerly Edinburgh Holiness Church, 505 N. Franklin ., Edinburgh, IN. Calling will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service at the church.
