Helen Louise (Cowan) Sallee B-M-126-4

Helen Louise (Cowan) Sallee, 75, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 9th, 2016 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a longtime resident of Edinburgh, Indiana. She was born on April 9th, 1940 in Adair County, Kentucky to Ollie J and Loracy Lee (Burton) Cowan. She married Russell D. Sallee on June 2nd, 1956. He is preceded her in passing on January 23rd, 2006. Helen is survived by their three children, Joy L. Sallee; Jeffrey L. (Kim) Sallee and Trina Sallee (Jerry) Maguire. grandchildren, Kylei (Nathan) Poff; Casey Sallee, Ashlei Kellams; Dillon Sallee; Grant (Nicole) Helton and Jimmy (Kristina) Robertson; five great grandchildren and one brother, Jerry W. Cowan. Also surviving are several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by brothers, Eulis Cowan, Earl Cowan, James Jr. Cowan, Ralph Cowan and Donald Cowan and sister, Loedda M. Price. Helen was employed by Johnson Memorial Hospital for twelve years. She previously was employed at Como Plastic in Columbus for thirty-eight years, retiring on December 31st, 2013. Helen enjoyed NASCAR, watching Purdue basketball, bingo and eating out with family and friends. There was nothing more important to Helen than spending time with her family. Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a celebration of Helen’s life on Saturday, March 12th at 2:00 p.m. at Who So Ever Will Church, 623 South Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh, Indiana 46124. Friends may call on Friday, March 11th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 12th from 12:00 p.m. to time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin is assisting the family with arrangements.
