Edith Vaught, 89, loving mother of Mildred Cravens and Elsie Bailey, of Edinburgh, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at her residence in Edinburgh. She was born Jan. 21, 1923, in Pulaski County, Ky., to the late Arvil and Leotia (Carter) Harness. She married Milford Vaught April 6, 1939, and he preceded her in death Oct. 15, 2008. Survivors include her children, Mildred Cravens and Elsie (Kenneth) Bailey of Edinburgh; special caregiver Josie Littlejohn; grandchildren Jeff Cravens, Tim Bailey, Teresa Conrad and Karen Emerson; and eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her brothers Chester and Phillip Harness; and son-in-law, Leon Cravens. She was a member of Carter Ride Baptist Church in Pulaski County, Ky. She retired in 1976 from David R. Webb Co., in Edinburgh, where she was a dryer operator. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and canning. The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh, with calling from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
