Barbara May Belser, 82, of Edinburgh, died at 12:39 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Belser was a homemaker and a member of Edinburgh United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, s ew i n g , gardening and flowers. The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh with the Rev. Jane Noblitt officiating. Calling will be Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Oct. 23, 1927, Mrs. Belser was the daughter of Richard and Dorothy LaBrec Jones. She married Charles E. Belser March 31, 1945. He preceded her in death Jan. 29, 2000. She is survived by a son, Michael Belser of Edinburgh; daughters, Christine (Jesse) Stewart of Shelbyville, Ky., and Catherine (Lynn) Workman of Taylorsville; a brother, Richard (Marlene) Jones of North Carolina; a sister, Bette (Walter) Karnes of Bellville, Texas; grandchildren, Megan (Steve) Brummett, Chris Workman, Adrienne (Jacob) Herrenbruk, Whitney Belser and Jennifer Workman; and two greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Valerie Ann Belser; and a granddaughter, Amanda Jo Workman.
