Pearl Ann Burton, 94, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin. She was a resident of Edinburgh. Pearl was born May 16, 1915, in Columbia, Ky., to Will Ed and Luann (Floyd) Grider. She married Leo Burton on Jan. 11, 1932; he preceded her in death April 16, 1977. Survivors include a son, Alvin (Dean) Burton of Markleville; a daughter, Ruby Huju of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Pauline Davis; an infant son, Hansel Ray Burton; three brothers Ray, Owen and Ernest Grider; a sister, Bertha Bryant; and her parents. Pearl was a homemaker. She lived independently in her home until she was 93. She then moved in with her granddaughter, Charlotte Giles. She raised Wally Bryant and Charlotte Giles. She enjoyed shopping and garage sales and loved being with her family and friends. The Rev. Mark Myers will conduct a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
