Pearl Ann Burton M-F-88-4

Pearl Ann Burton, 94, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin. She was a resident of Edinburgh. Pearl was born May 16, 1915, in Columbia, Ky., to Will Ed and Luann (Floyd) Grider. She married Leo Burton on Jan. 11, 1932; he preceded her in death April 16, 1977. Survivors include a son, Alvin (Dean) Burton of Markleville; a daughter, Ruby Huju of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Pauline Davis; an infant son, Hansel Ray Burton; three brothers Ray, Owen and Ernest Grider; a sister, Bertha Bryant; and her parents. Pearl was a homemaker. She lived independently in her home until she was 93. She then moved in with her granddaughter, Char­lotte Giles. She raised Wally Bryant and Charlotte Giles. She enjoyed shopping and garage sales and loved being with her family and friends. The Rev. Mark Myers will conduct a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
