Steven R. Denton, 63, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010, at his residence in Indianapolis. He was born June 20, 1947, in Medora to Arnold and Elizabeth (Mann) Denton. He was devotedly employed by Cummins Mid-States for 34 years as the central inventory manager. He loved to cook and was an avid fan of NASCAR, especially driver Mark Martin. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his children, Crystal Blevins of Columbus and Tracy Shake, Stephanie Denton and Stacy Denton, all of Indianapolis; three brothers, Daniel and Randy Denton, both of Edinburgh, and Dennis Denton of Franklin; five sisters, Darlene Bryant and Donna Halcomb, both of Edinburgh, and Lois Hall, Jenny Betts and Barbara Denton-Erlenbush, all of Nineveh; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Jerry Denton; and a sister, Linda Bryant. The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Who So Ever will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church's community youth center and from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
