Vannie L. Griggs, Jr., 63, of Morgantown, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at the Johnson County Memorial Hospital in Franklin. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville with the Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Mr. Griggs is survived by his wife, Cathy (Thompson) Griggs of Morgantown; sons, Mike (Amy) Griggs of Gastonia, N.C., Jason Griggs of Morgantown, Chris (Nikki) Griggs of Nashville and Justin (Hannah) Griggs of Bargersville; a sister, Judy Campbell of Mackville, Ky.; brothers, Harold Griggs of Bengal, Charles F. “Fritz” Campbell, Danny Campbell, and Bob Burton, all of Edinburgh; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Gentry; a son, Nathan Griggs; and a granddaughter, Jessica Gentry.
