Elby D. McGaha, 62, of Shelbyville, died at 1:06 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. Mr. McGaha, a 1965 graduate of Edinburgh High School, owned Davis Machine & Tool Inc. in Edinburgh and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing. The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh with the Rev. Ron Ellis officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, and military graveside rites will be conducted by Edinburgh American Legion Post No. 233. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle St., Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60604-1242. Born in Columbia, Ky., Aug. 17, 1947, Mr. McGaha was the son of Edward “Spunk” and Beulah B. Bryant McGaha. He married Carolyn White on Aug. 15, 1969. Survivors include his wife; his father, of Edinburgh; sons, Mike (Gina) McGaha of Hope and Brian (Stacy) McGaha of Franklin; a brother, Larry Dean (Shirley) McGaha of Edinburgh; sisters, Linda Mc-Gaha and Pamela (Darryl) Emerson, both of Edinburgh; and grandchildren, Chandler, Drew, Garrett and Jamie Mc-Gaha. He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant sister, Barbara Sue McGaha.
