Beverly Jane Shriver M-F-6-4

Beverly J. Shriver, 71, of Edinburgh, died at 1:57 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. Mrs. Shriver was born Nov. 10, 1938 in Johnson County, the daughter of Jesse Miller and Chloras (Davis) West. She married Steve Shriver on Nov. 6, 1972 and he survives. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at Franklin Masonic Home and later did in home care. She was a former member of Edinburgh American Legion Auxiliary and Edinburgh First Christian Church. Mrs. Shriver was an avid collector of Longaberger baskets and enjoyed reading, sewing and crafts. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Shriver is survived by sons, Billy (June Beverly) Snyder, Mike (Lisa) Snyder and David Snyder, all of Edinburgh; a granddaughter, Mackenzie Taflinger, who makes her home with Steve and Beverly; a step-daughter, Stephanie Shriver of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; brothers, Joe Miller of Franklin and Brent (Barbara) Miller of Cary, Ill.; a step-brother, Billy (Nancy) West of Edinburgh; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Esther L. Taflinger; a sister, Anna Barker; and step-sisters Sharon Martin and Louise Wilson.  The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home with the Rev. Phyllis Burton officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
