Claude R. Thomas, 71, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Homeview Center in Franklin. He was a resident of Edinburgh. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis A. (Brown) Thomas; a son, Don Thomas; four daughters, Linda (Mike) Keller of Martinsville, Judy Byrum of Indianapolis, and Kathy Roberts and Jackie Thomas, both of Franklin; a brother, Ray (Margie) Thomas of Edinburgh; a sister, Edith Whittaker of Clayborn County, Tenn.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Vesta M. (Whittaker) Thomas; a son, Clay Thomas; a brother, Shelby Thomas; a sister, Norma L. Jones; half-brothers, Carl Ross Thomas and Earl Myers; and a half-sister, Ruby DeBusk. Mr. Thomas retired from his Edinburgh business, Thomas Sewer and Drain Cleaning. He enjoyed traveling. The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Thursday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Arrangements are being handled by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh.
