Donnie Sexton, 52, of Columbus, died at 5:25 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. Mr. Sexton was an Army veteran and an active duty employee at Camp Atterbury, serving with the 1438th Transportation Unit. He served in Iraq from 2004 to 2005. A member of Teamsters Union Local No. 135, he was a former employee of Milestone Construction and worked as a delivery driver for Pepsi-Cola for 25 years. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Whosoever Will Community Church, 623 Eisenhower Drive in Edinburgh, with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Calling will be at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until service time Friday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Born in Hazard, Ky., Dec. 9, 1956, Mr. Sexton was the son of Ernest and Mary Centers Sexton. He married Lisa Allison Sept. 4, 1993. Survivors include his wife; a son and a daughter, Dereck Sexton and Keisha Sexton, both at home; a grandson, Jaecek Garvin; brothers, Gene Sexton of North Vernon, Eddie Sexton of Kentucky and Lonnie Sexton of Alabama; and sisters, Jan Waltermier of Columbus and Marlene Callahan of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ronnie and Elmer Sexton.
