Lucian "Luke" Johnson, 67, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at his residence in Edinburgh. He was born May 8, 1942, in Liberty, Ky., to Millard and Betty (Allen) Johnson, who preceded him in death. Survivors include two daughters, Laura (Don) Harding of Franklin and Talina (Joe Rice) Hartwell of Edinburgh; three grandchildren, Samuel, David and Waylon Rice; three brothers, Willis (Wilma) Johnson of Brown County and Vitis (Nadine) Johnson and Shirley (Imogene) Johnson, both of Wilson Ridge, Ky.; and two sisters, Imogene McGaha and Mary Burton, both of Edinburgh. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Oval, Uril, Omer and Wilbert Johnson; and three sisters, Pauline Adams, Ruby Curry and Margie Burton. He had been employed by various veneer mills in the area. He was known for his musical talent, singing and playing various instruments. The Rev. John Young will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive in Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh is handling arrangements.
