Geraine F. “Jerry” Joseph, 81, of Columbus died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, May 17, 2009, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. Mrs. Joseph was a 1946 graduate of Edinburgh High School. She was a member of Edinburgh First Presbyterian Church and Edinburgh American Legion Auxiliary No. 233 and a former member of Tri Kappa, U.S.O., Johnson County Mental Health Association, Block’s Department Store Fashion Board and Indianapolis Homemakers. She also was a World War II historian, antiques collector and avid reader. The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh with the Rev. Guy Hardin officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Born in Edinburgh on Feb. 19, 1928, Mrs. Joseph was the daughter of Robert F. and Reba Irene Bryson Gephart. She married Edward Joseph on Aug. 21, 1947. Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael Joseph of Fishers; daughters, Stephanie Adams of Fox River Grove, Ill., and Theresa Harrell of Greenwood; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqlyn Hinkle; and a sister, Barbara Talbert.
