Albert M. Hardwick, 79, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a resident of Edinburgh. He was born Sept. 22, 1930, in Christine, Ky., to the late Clyde and Esther (Neat) Hardwick. He married Barbara Joan (Foley) Hardwick on Nov. 30, 1950. She survives. Other survivors include five children, Linda Gail (husband Ron) Curd, Kenneth (wife Sherry) Hardwick, Judith (husband Carl) Settle, Jo Ellen (husband John) Young and Sharon (husband Rich) Ebert; nine grandchildren, Amanda Hedrick, Justin Hardwick, Josh Hardwick, Cameron Hardwick, Curt Settle, Ryan Settle, Troy Martin, Eric Jaggers and Jacob Young; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Sue Martin. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1949. He was a member of Amity Baptist Church and Glenn's Valley Conservation Club. He retired from Cummins Inc. after 35 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, billiards and gardening. The Rev. John Young will conduct a funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 9135 N.
