Raymond "Buttermilk" Burton, 78, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin. He was a resident of Edinburgh. He was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Columbia, Ky., to the late Ogel and Mary (McQueary) Burton. He married Izena (Burton) Burton on May 27, 1950. She survives. Other survivors include five sons, Larry (Arcena) Burton, Ronnie (Cinda) Burton and Terry (Jeana) Burton, all of Franklin, Jerry (Rhoda) Burton of New Whiteland and Greg (Sherry) Burton of Edinburgh; a daughter, Debra (Joe) Chandler of Edinburgh; three brothers, Lewis Burton, Rollen Burton of Indianapolis and Elbert (Dorlis) Burton of Cincinnati; two sisters, Lulu (Roy) McGaha of Franklin and Arlena Harmon of Cincinnati; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Ralph Burton; and a granddaughter. He attended Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh. He was a member of CB Buddy Radio Club. He retired in 1991 from Arvin Industries in Franklin after 36 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and listening to music. The Revs. Lewis Burton and Guy Hardin will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive in Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
