Jim Isach Franklin, 72, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin. He was a resident of Edinburgh. He was born Nov. 1, 1936, in Columbia, Ky., to the late Joe Willie and Sally Mae (Rogers) Franklin. He married Judith Ann (Hadley) Franklin in 1981. She survives. Other survivors include a son, William Franklin; a daughter, Rhodie Marie Hadley of Russell Springs, Ky.; three stepdaughters, Tammy Shockley and Vicki Laney, both of Columbus, and Denise Swift of Franklin; three brothers, Henry, Davis and Woodrow Franklin of Columbia; two sisters, Violia Jesse and Dolly Bragg, both of Columbia; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Harrison "Bubbie" Franklin; and a grandson, Joshua Meyers Laney. He attended Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh. He retired from Amos Hill Veneer Co. in Edinburgh, where he was a channel machine operator. The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Friday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh is handling arrangements.
