Frances M. King, 86, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin. She was born Dec. 16, 1922, in Johnson County to Frank and Mildred (Mardis) Cochran. She married Lavern Edwin King on Oct. 3, 1942. He preceded her in passing Dec. 21, 2008. Survivors include two sons, Eddie King (Carolyn) of Franklin and Michael King of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Jeremy King, Stephanie King and Andrea Aquayo, all of Franklin, and Whitney King and Nathan King, both of Edinburgh; two great-grandchildren, Abrianna and Sophia; and brother, Robert Cochran (Ethel) of Indianapolis. She was preceded in passing by a son, Donald King; and sisters, Marybelle Henderson and Helen Branigan. Frances was a 1942 graduate of Franklin High School. She was a homemaker. She was an avid seamstress, having worked on uniforms for Edinburgh schools for many years. Bill Leohr will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
