Edwin Leroy Thompson M-H-23-1

Edwin Leroy Thompson, 80, passed away on Friday, October 14th, 2016 at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Trafalgar. He was born on December 21, 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana to George and Dorothy Mae (Sylvester) Thompson. Ed married Myra Lou Wilson on December 22nd, 1956. She lovingly survives. He is also survived by their six children, Alan Thompson (Fiancé, Rita); Gary Thompson (Friend, Jane); Sherri (Thompson) DuFriend; Dale Thompson (Dorrina); Cathy (Thompson) Simpson (Eddie) and Nan (Thompson) Richards (John); seventeen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one brother, Paul Thompson (Lynn). He was preceded in passing by his parents; two brothers, Rawlin and George Earl Thompson and one sister, Geraldine Thompson. Ed attended school Washington High School in Indianapolis. He was employed by Rumpke, retiring after many years of dedicated service. He presently was employed by Howard’s Machine Shop as a Machinist. Ed was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Franklin. He was an avid coin collector. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Friday, October 21st, at 7:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call on Friday, October 21st from 4:00 p.m. to time of service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, October 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
