Helen J. Swinehart, 89 of Fort Wayne, formally of Edinburgh, IN, passed away on February 13, 2017 at Canterbury Nursing Home in Fort Wayne, IN.  She was the daughter of John W. and Ina M. (Lutes) Hashman.  She was born on March 7, 1927 in Jackson County, IN.  She married J. Leslie “Midge” Swinehart on June 30, 1946.  He preceded her in death on August 15, 1984. She is survived by a son, Stephen D. (Stephanie) Swinehart of Fort Wayne, IN, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Paul Hashman and Wayne Hashman. She was a member of the Edinburgh United Methodist Church and the Edinburgh  American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was an avid sports fan of the Colts, Pacers, Chicago Cubs, IU, and NASCAR. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM by Reverend Sean Johnson on Saturday, February 18, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, IN.  Calling will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
