Lloyd Jack Burton, 81, died Friday, June 1, 2012, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a resident of Edinburgh. He was born Jan. 6, 1931, in Edinburgh to the late William Lucian and Gertrude (Burton) Burton. He married Evelyn Louise (Weber) Burton on Sept. 11, 1954. She preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Dolph, Orville and Carl Burton; three sisters, Emma Smith, Dorothy Betz and Rebecca Weber; and a brother-in-law, Robert "Bobby" Weber. He was a member of Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh and Edinburgh American Legion Post 233. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He formerly was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had been employed by Amos Hill Associates in Edinburgh and was a 20-year employee of Bush's Market in Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting. The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a graveside service at 3 p.m. today at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Edinburgh American Legion Post 233. Arrangements were entrusted to Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
