Arlis Hamm, 83, of Franklin, died at 11:07 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Waters of Scottsburg. Mr. Hamm was a retired self-employed carpenter. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St. in Edinburgh, with the Rev. Homer Whited officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Born in Liberty, Ky., May 15, 1929, Mr. Hamm was the son of Harrison Benjamin Hamm and Lockie Davis Hamm. He married Louvina Pennington Feb. 1, 1947. She preceded him in death Jan. 2, 2007. Survivors include sons, Glen (Shannon) Hamm of Greenwood, Gene Hamm of Franklin and Ronald (Cathy) Hamm of Edinburgh; a daughter, Charlott (Chuck) Wright of Greenwood; a brother, Lewell Hamm of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Arnold, Dale, Iver, Albert, Avery and James Hamm; and sisters, Velma Attwood, Verline Caudill, Velton Monday and Adell Davis.
