Bobby Leroy Hodson, 80 of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at his residence. He was born on Oct. 25, 1931, in Johnson County. He was the son of the late Howard and Elsie (Ford) Hodson. He married Kay Frances (Cooley) Hodson on April 26, 1952, in Franklin. She lovingly survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Sandra Kay Barrett of Edinburgh; a son, Kim William (Stephanie) Hodson of Franklin; grandchildren Donnie, Michelle, Melissa, Seth, Mariah and McKenzie and six great-grandchildren. He also is survived by two sisters, Mary Weathers of Franklin and Peggy Stockton (Henry) of Washington. He was preceded in passing by his parents and brothers, Kenneth Hodson, Norman Hodson and Billy Hodson; son, John. Bobby attended school in Edinburgh. Bobby proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an operating engineer with Local Union 103 for 55 years in heavy equipment. Bobby enjoyed his daily camaraderie with his friends at the Tasty Shop and Millie's in Amity. He was a member of the Franklin American Legion Post No. 105 and was a former Elk. He enjoyed drive-ins and most especially enjoyed his trip to Hawaii in the seventies. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31) in Franklin. A celebration of life memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
