Martha Alice Barnhill, 93, of Thorntown, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018 at her home. Martha was born June 15, 1925, the daughter of William and Ethel Miller Haislup. On August 6, 1943, she married Harold Wayne Barnhill. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2001. Mrs. Barnhill was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed bible study. Playing cards and bingo with her friends at Farrington Apartments were among her favorite things to do.Survivors include her sons, Michael (Linda) Barnhill of Thorntown, Larry (Carol) Barnhill of Columbus, Rick (Becki) Barnhill of Canton, GA.; 8 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 geat-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jan Lewellen, Rosalie (Lloyd) Barnhill, both of Columbus; brother-in-law, Phil Gerster of Colorado Springs, CO.; 5 nieces and 5 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; 4 brothers and 1 sister. In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place and a private graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or Great Lakes Caring Hospice of Lafayette Indiana.
