Timothy Johnson B-H-2-1

Timothy Johnson, 62, of Columbus, died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born in Columbus, April 19, 1950, the son of the late Jesse Lee Johnson and Lucille McGaha Johnson. He married Rita J. Beckwith on July 11, 1969. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2004. He is survived by a son, Jason (Rebecca) Johnson of Kentucky; a daughter, Amy Rena (Nathan) Watts; brothers, Jesse Lee (Lisa) Johnson Jr., and Clarence Douglas (Cindy) Johnson, both of Columbus; sisters, Donna (Charles) Hollenbeck and Terri (Paul) Waltz, both of Columbus; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Frazier. Timothy was a M/SGT. in the U.S. Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of Edinburgh Apostolic Tabernacle and the Edinburgh American Legion Post #233. He was employed for 22 years by Dutch's Body Shop in Columbus, and enjoyed building model cars, trains and airplanes. Funeral services will be conducted at Edinburgh Apostolic Tabernacle, 701 S. Main St., Edinburgh, at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Mark Myers will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home and from noon until service time Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
