Barbara Ann Boucher B-J-20-4

EDINBURGH

Beloved wife and mother, Barbara Ann Boucher, passed away at home on April 16, 2020 at age 72.

Born January 11, 1948, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Inez (Hardin) Fitzpatrick; her daughter, Dannyelle; and her sister, Connie (Fitzpatrick) Miller.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth “Sonny”; her son, Kenneth II “K.R.”; her brothers, Charles II “Corkey” (Karen) and John (Rebecca) Fitzpatrick; and her sister, Deia (Bill) Pittman.

Barbara worked most of her career as a vehicle title clerk. A fan of the arts, she enjoyed acting, painting, dancing, cake decorating, and interior design. She was very proud of her beautiful flower gardens.

Barbara was well-known for her culinary prowess, once owning a restaurant in Columbus, Indiana, The B&K, and managing the kitchen of Columbus Moose Lodge #398. She always made sure any guest in her life was well-fed. She loved Christmas and holiday baking. The waistlines of her family give testimony to her scrumptious skills.

Perhaps Barbara’s most notable trait was her passion for fashion and fine jewelry. Never would she appear in public without being dressed to a tea, layered in gold and diamonds and driving a shiny Cadillac. She was quick with a quip and loved a good laugh. She enjoyed classic films, specifically period dramas and mafia movies. The Sopranos, The Godfather and Downton Abbey were among her favorites.

Barbara did not want us to mourn her passing, but instead to celebrate how she lived. She asked that we have no viewing or service. Instead, hug your loved ones, feed your friends, and tell a stranger a funny joke. Make someone’s day as bright as she made all of ours. Donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
