Rosemary "Rosie" Strickland B-F-50-6

Rosemary “Rosie” Strickland, 90, passed away at her residence at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community on April 12, 2020. She was a longtime resident of Franklin.

Rosie was born on October 22, 1929 in Taylorsville, Indiana to Walter and Lenna (Schuder) Harris. She married Samuel Strickland on September 7, 1952. He preceded her in passing on March 31, 2003.

She is survived by her daughters, Nina Strickland Newton (Greg) and Sue A. Strickland Keyes; grandsons, Deke Bowman, Curtis Newton (Samanatha), Quinten Newton, and Jarius Keyes; great-grandchildren, Adrian Haines, Charles Stines, Vincent Newton, and Caroline Newton. Rosie is preceded in passing by her parents and husband, Sam.

Rosie worked for Dr. Deppe for over 35 years. She was a member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority and the Franklin Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, #439. She was also a member at the Tabernacle Christian Church where she participated in the Lady’s Circle. She was a member of a Home Economics group and an euchre club.

Services are pending. Inurnment will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin is assisting the family with arrangements.
