Mildred E. Whited, 87, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Homeview Health Care in Franklin. She was a resident of Whiteland. She was born March 3, 1926, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Hershell and Elizabeth (Allen) Woodrum. She married Junior Whited on Aug. 4, 1945. He preceded her in death in Jan. 15, 2005. Survivors include her children, William G. "Whitey" (Anne) Whited of Whiteland and Marion Garnet (Marcia) Whited of Greenwood; grandchildren, Karen (Randy) Jones, Stacie Whited, Jennifer (Eric) Armstrong and Adam Whited; five great grandchildren; and brothers, Jackie Woodrum and Phillip (Donna) Woodrum, both of Louisville, Ky. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Wilbert, Delbert, Bobby, Julius and Freddie Woodrum; sisters, Cleo Burton, Juanita Woodrum and Elvie Bolt. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, canning, crocheting, gardening and flowers. She attended Casey County Schools. Revs. Guy Hardin and Charles Howard will conduct a funeral service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church, 1010 S. Main St., Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Arrangements were entrusted to Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home or Homeview Memory Care unit, 651 S. State St., Franklin, IN 46131.
