Sarah Alice Brown, 80 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, at Green Tree at Westwood in Columbus, Indiana. She was born May 3, 1943, in Edinburgh, Indiana. She was the daughter of Raymond C. and Leevada (Streeval) Brown. She is survived by brothers, David (Debbie) Brown of Columbus, Indiana, and Phillip (Shirley) Brown of Columbus, Indiana, nephews, Keith (Ashley) Brown, Matthew (Elizabeth) Brown, Ethan (Ashley) Brown, Michael (Deanna) Brown, Jr., 2 great-nephews, 3 great-nieces, 1 great-nephew arriving in October. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Larry Dale Brown, sister, Charlotte Ann Collins, and nephew, David Allan Brown. Sarah graduated from Edinburgh High School. She went on to graduate from Franklin College and later, Butler University where she received her master’s in education. She retired after teaching 45 years at East Side Elementary School in Edinburgh. She was a member of the Blue River Gospel Tabernacle in Edinburgh. She enjoyed playing and singing with her dad on his ministry radio show, playing the piano, and attending church. After moving to Green Tree, she enjoyed playing the piano for the residence and staff. A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Shane Rocker at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to The Kelly Family, Fund for Journey North, in care of the Eskew-Eaton funeral home.
