James "Snooter" Hancock B-H-17-4

James A. “Snooter” Hancock, 84 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away September 18, 2023, at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born May 30, 1939, in Adair County, Kentucky. He was the son of James and Mabel (Burton) Hancock. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Streeval of Edinburgh, Indiana, son, Tony Hancock of Edinburgh, Indiana, granddaughter, Tamia Hancock of Shelbyville, Indiana, grandson, Andrew Hancock of Shelbyville, Indiana, 2 great-grandchildren, brothers, Gene (Tammy) Hancock of Edinburgh, Indiana and Steve Hancock of Edinburgh, Indiana, and sister, Karen Harmon of Edinburgh, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Erin M. Streeval, brothers, Jackie “Jack” Hancock, Joe Hancock, and Valley Houston Hancock, Sr., and sisters, Judy Hancock, Margie Allender, and Donna Dinn.

Snooter was a 1957 graduate of Mt. Auburn High School. He graded and harvested standing timber and later was a self-employed dump truck driver. He enjoyed coon hunting, mushroom hunting, and cutting firewood. A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Randy Denton at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Arrangements made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana.
