Clayton Burton, 82, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in Columbus. He was a resident of Edinburgh. He was born Sept. 3, 1930, in Columbia, Ky., to the late Wesley and Bert (Dile) Burton. He married Kathleen Pendleton on March 18, 1950. She preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 2003. Survivors include a son, Chester (Patty) Burton of Columbus; a grandson, Brad (Kelly) Burton of New Albany; three great-grandchildren, Brandon, John and Jaclyn Burton; and three siblings, Buford (Alene) Burton and Barbara Pendelton, both of Edinburgh, and Fay Cowan of Trafalgar. He also was preceded in death by a son, Gary Dale Burton; a granddaughter, Katherine Burton; and siblings, Van, Lester, Mildred, Millie and Clay Fairley Burton, Beulah Sinclair and Exuria Goodin. He retired after 42 years of service at Arvin Industries in Franklin and co-owned Flowers by Kathleen in Edinburgh. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and going to the riverboat. The family would like to send special thanks to Kama and Anna of Southern Care. The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. Calling will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
