Margaret Sue “Susie” Gross Hogan, 72, of Columbus, passed away at 12:55 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at her residence. Born November 14, 1953, in Edinburgh, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Betty (Whittington) Gross. Susie worked in the lunchroom and as a librarian at Fodrea Elementary School in Columbus. She attended Wilson Chapel in Scipio and Calvary Church in Columbus. Susie enjoyed music, dancing and singing, cooking, going for drives, going to yard sales, having cemetery picnics and she loved telling stories and family time. Survivors include her sons, Golith Hogan of Columbus; her daughter, Samantha Banks of Columbus; step-son Doug Hogan of Evansville; brother, Earl Ray Gross of Edinburgh; sisters, Sheila Gross and Sharon Gross, both of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Sasha Banks, Seth Banks, Storm Banks, Sage Banks, Sky Banks, and Fath Hogan, all of Columbus; and great-grandchildren, Samuel Banks and Aleigha Banks, both of Seymour; Karson Banks of Columbus, Mason Banks of Vincennes, Steven Pedrazoli and Scarlett Pedrazoli, both of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Peter Gross; brothers, Eddie and Ernie Gross; and great-grandchild, River Alig. A funeral service for Susie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Rev. Todd Roland officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
